Nail salons are for everyone. Manicures, pedicures, and waxing are not gendered services — they are grooming services. At Jeannie Nails in Sheet Harbour, we welcome male clients for any service on our menu, from a $10 classic manicure to a $40 back wax. No special treatment needed — just the same professional service we provide to every client.
A classic manicure is not about polish. It is about cleaning up the hands. The service includes: nail shaping (square or round — no polish if you do not want it), cuticle care (pushing back and trimming excess), buffing (gives nails a natural shine without polish), hand massage (5 minutes with moisturising cream). Finished hands look clean and professional — not done. No polish. No shine unless you want it. The classic manicure is $10 and takes 20 minutes. Gel manicure ($25) adds a clear gel top coat that lasts 3+ weeks — protects the nails, keeps them strong, and is invisible. Most men choose the classic with buff only.
A pedicure is especially useful for men who stand all day (construction, trades, retail, healthcare). The classic pedicure ($25) includes: warm foot soak, nail trimming (straight across — prevents ingrown toenails), cuticle care, callus removal (pedicure knife or electric file for heel cracks and thick skin), foot and calf massage (10 minutes). The result: feet that do not hurt, nails that do not catch on socks, and heels that do not crack. The spa pedicure ($35) adds a paraffin wax dip and extended massage — recommended for men with chronic foot pain or dry heels.
Eyebrow wax: $10 (clean up the centre and under the arch — looks natural). Ear and nose wax: $15 (removes visible hair — a very popular service with men over 40). Back wax: $40 (full back, from shoulders to waistline). Chest wax: $30 (minimises chest hair without being completely hairless — we leave a natural line). Shoulder wax: $25. Full body wax (chest + back + shoulders): $80 (save $15). Waxing is done with hard wax (less painful than strip wax, better for coarse hair). We use a post-wax soothing serum to calm the skin immediately after.
"Will I be the only man in the salon?" Usually not. We regularly serve male clients for waxing and pedicures. The salon is co-ed. "Do I need to book a separate appointment for men?" No. Walk in anytime. "Can I get a pedicure without polish?" Yes. We do a "natural pedicure" — just clean, trim, and moisturise. No polish. No buff. "Does waxing hurt?" The first time is the worst. It gets easier with regular appointments every 4-6 weeks.
